Judges should apply the law, not make it. My experience as an attorney, and my knowledge of the law will enable me to apply the law with conservative
common sense and not judicial activism or favoritism.
My opponent claims to have conservative values he will use to guide his conduct in the courtroom. However, his history of donating republican campaign money to powerful democrats suggests otherwise.
Appreciation for the Limited Resources of Businesses
We have all heard a lot about the limited resources for our courts, but businesses and employees face these same challenges when drawn into the court system. Instead of being complacent or complaining we should be looking at ways to function more efficiently.
People cannot afford the time away from their struggling businesses or to keep a lawyer in court all day for five minutes of a judge’s time.
By taking advantage of technology (such as video conferencing) and practicing thorough judicial preparation, many of these inconveniences can be eliminated, making it easier for people to seek the justice they deserve.
Efficient and Effective Case Scheduling
Hurry up and be on time, only to wait for hours on a bench in the courtroom or in line at the clerk’s office.
In today's difficult economic climate, people cannot afford to waste unnecessary time in court.
As Circuit Court Judge, I will take the time to understand the cases
assigned to me and schedule them with respect for all involved. There is absolutely no reason to continue with the archaic practice of scheduling every case on a docket for the same time.
I will work with lawyers and parties to conduct hearings through the use of technology to avoid unnecessary trips to Bay Minette for those living or working in other parts of Baldwin County.
I will work with other Judges to have an efficient allocation of the case load. Cases, while assigned a number, are about people and critical events facing their lives.
No
citizen should be told there is not time to fully hear their case.
Given the fact that my opponent refuses to even hold court on Fridays, I do not believe he could deliver the kind of service the people of Baldwin County deserve.
